Straight answers
Is it really free?
Yes. There’s no trial and nothing locked behind an upgrade. You get the full theme, the documentation and the source. The only paid part is ACF Pro, which you buy from its maker.
Can I use it for client sites?
Yes. Northline is licensed under the GNU GPL v2 or later, so you can use it on as many sites as you like, including client sites, and modify it. The fonts are under the SIL Open Font License.
Do I need coding skills?
No. You install the theme and plugins, import the demo and edit every word and image in normal WordPress fields. You’d only need code (Tailwind CSS) to change the design itself.
Why ACF Pro?
Every section, list and settings page is built with ACF Pro fields. That keeps the theme fast and free of page builders. Repeaters and options pages are ACF Pro features, so the free version is not enough.
Can I use it for plumbing or roofing?
Yes. The layout works for any local service business: swap the copy, services and photos. The built-in structured data is set to HVACBusiness, so a developer may want to change that type for other trades.
Do you offer support or setup?
The theme is free and provided as is, with full documentation. If you’d like it set up for your business or a client, or need a fully custom build, I offer that as a paid service.
