About
I’m Chinomso Onu, a web designer and WordPress developer. I’ve worked remotely with clients in the US, UK and Australia since 2016, and from November 2022 to November 2025 I was director of web design at Exponential Media, a US marketing agency.

How I got here
01 / Training
My first web design course was in 2007, years before it became my job. I studied plant biotechnology at the University of Benin, then came back to design with a Professional Diploma in Graphic Design from Austin Peay State University.
02 / Freelance and e-commerce
I took my first Upwork contract in November 2016. Logo work for an Australian computer retailer became their website redesign and web administration, and in 2018 I ran IT for Flexi Africa in Zimbabwe: the store, its content and its servers.
03 / Leading a team
Exponential Media hired me as a senior web designer in April 2022 and made me director of web design that November. For three years I led the team, mentored designers and developers, and designed landing pages for business brokers in Broker Lead Factory, the agency’s business broker division.
04 / Now
Since November 2025 I’ve worked independently: custom WordPress themes and Elementor builds for founders and small teams. I also run podcast production for long-term clients, backed by a Diploma in Sound Engineering and more than 700 edited episodes.
Work record
Every role, drawn to scale. Bars that overlap ran in parallel: freelance work on Upwork has continued alongside each job since 2016.
A timeline from 2016 to 2026. Each row is a role; its bar spans the years it ran. Green bars are independent work, navy bars employed or contracted.
