This policy explains what personal information chinomsowonder.com collects, why, and what you can do about it. The site is run by Chinomso Onu, a web designer based in Johannesburg, South Africa. If you have a question about your data, email reach@chinomsowonder.com.
What I collect and why
Free resource sign-ups
When you request a free resource, such as the Northline theme, you give me your first name, your email address and which option best describes you (for example, agency or freelancer). I use this to send you the download link and occasional emails about my work, new free resources and design tips. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
These sign-ups are stored and sent by Kit (formerly ConvertKit), my email provider. Kit uses a confirmation step: you only join the list after you click the confirmation link in the first email. Kit’s privacy policy is at kit.com/privacy.
Contact form and email
If you contact me through the contact form or by email, I receive your name, email address and message. I use them only to reply and to discuss your project, and I keep them for as long as we are in touch about it.
Analytics
I use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site, for example which pages are visited and which buttons are clicked. Google Analytics sets cookies and collects information such as your approximate location, device, browser and the pages you view. It does not tell me who you are. You can opt out with Google’s browser add-on or by blocking cookies in your browser. Google’s privacy policy is at policies.google.com/privacy.
Hosting and security
Like most websites, the server keeps short-lived technical logs (such as IP addresses and the pages requested) to keep the site secure and working.
Who I share it with
I don’t sell your information. It is only handled by the services that run this site: Kit for email, Google for analytics, and my web host. Some of these services store data outside South Africa, including in the United States.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under South Africa’s POPIA or the EU and UK GDPR), you can ask to see the personal information I hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted, and you can object to how it is used. Email reach@chinomsowonder.com and I’ll respond within 30 days. You also have the right to complain to your data protection regulator; in South Africa that is the Information Regulator.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with an updated date.
